Deputy Speaker holds Darbar, addresses public issues
Secunderabad: The Deputy Speaker of Telangana Assembly, Teegulla Padma Rao Goud launched an innovative 'Praja Darbar' at Medibhai Aryasamaj, located at Sitaphalmandi, on Wednesday.
Government officials of various departments, public representatives, local leaders and a large number of common people attended the programme. 'Praja Darbar', a public interaction programme, would be held once every week in one of the colonies of the constituency.
Addressing the programme, Padma Rao expressed happiness that in the last five years he could resolve several public issues which had been pending for the last 50 years.
Explaining about various achievements, he said he had taken up several developmental activities in the last five years such as establishment of government junior/degree college at Sitaphalmandi, construction of RuB at Tukaram Gate, construction of multipurpose function hall at Sitaphalmandi, finding permanent solution for providing drinking water in the constituency, widening of seven culverts to address drainage problems, laying new roads, development of Chilkalguda Idgah as a model idgah and others.
About 16,000 beneficiaries are getting Asara pensions in the constituency, he said. About 2,100 beneficiaries from the constituency received financial assistance worth Rs 16 crore under Kalyan Lakshmi/Shaadi Mubark scheme so far, he said. Directing MROs to respond positively to the issues of pensioners, the Deputy Speaker said that his camp office at Namala Gundu would be open any time for public in case of any issue.
Later, the Deputy Speaker distributed Kalayana Lakshmi/Shaadi Mubarak cheques to 91 beneficiaries from Musheerabad mandal. People who attended 'Praja Darbar' submitted several petitions to the officials for the sanction of pensions. Padma Rao instructed the officials to process their applications at the earliest. Padma Rao also received several petitions seeking solutions for drainage, sanitation and other issues.
GHMC North zone commissioner Shankaraiah, deputy commissioner Ravi Kumar, RDO Raja Goud, city planner Prasad, Traffic ACP Venkata Ramana, Jalamandali GM Rajashekhar, district civil supplies officer Padma, MRO Sharmila, Transco ADE Balu Naik, GHMC officials Pramod Kumar, Anuradha, Gangadhar, Dr Ravindra Goud, medical officer Dr Sakkubai, officials of various government departments, corporators Samala Hema, Alakunta Saraswathi and others participated in the programme.
