Ghmc employees leader to contest HMWSSB union polls

Hyderabad: Bhagyanagar Municipal GHMC Employees Union President K Shankar will be contesting in the elections which will be conducted for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) Employees Union in the coming days.

Speaking to the media at GHMC head office here on Wednesday, Bharatiya Mazdoor Union (BMU) national vice-president S Mallesham said that BMU has decided to field K Shankar in the elections of HMWSSB Employees Union and he urged the employees to vote for Shankar.

Shankar was congratulated by the members of BMU and Bhagyanagar Municipal GHMC Employees Union on this occasion. Addressing the media, Shankar said that BMU was not associated with any political party and its purely to fight for the problem of the employees.

The Congress party has never interfered in employees' union elections, but the TRS was interfering in all the local elections, he lamented.

Already we are fighting for the problems faced by the employees in GHMC and now, we will fight for the problems of water board employees, if they won in the water board employees union election, he said.
