Gouds hail government's decision on Neera sale

Chikkadpalli: The president of coordination committee of Telangana toddy associations, Balaraju Goud thanked CM KCR and the minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav for bringing GO 108 permitting the sale of Neera, toddy drink, through government-established stalls. He was speaking at a press conference held at the committee's office here on Monday.

Welcoming the government's move, he said the initiative would help increase employment opportunities for members of Goud community which is involved in toddy collection. He urged the State government to enact a special law for its effective implementation of 'Neera' policy.

He appealed the government to establish special stalls across the State and give it to members of Goud community to manage them. He urged government to prohibit foreign liquor in a phased manner and take measures to improve the sale of toddy.

Co-convener of the committee Vijay Kumar Goud, general secretary MV Ramana Goud, woman society president Dhanunjayana, woman society general secretary Swapna Goud, Mana Telangana Goud association general secretary K Harshavardhan Goud, Venkanna Goud and others were present on the occasion.
