Helping Hand Foundation to host Eid party for Nizamia patients
Charminar: In another initiative, the Helping Hand Foundation (HHF) volunteers who are working in Nizamia Government Hospital have been engaging for helping the paralytic patients in bathing, hairs and nails cutting and cleaning of Nizamia Hospital near Charminar.
On occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, a team of 12 HHF volunteers has engaged around 40 patients mostly males for their personal hygiene. On Eid day, the HHF is also providing the Eid special dessert 'Sheerkhorma' for patients who were admitted in hospital during the festival. It may be mentioned here that in the beginning of the year, apart from several other facilities, trained health care workers have been deployed in the hospital to assist patients in OPD and IP Wards.
With about 70% of inpatients admitted in Nizamia Hospital suffering from stroke related complications, in which more than half are adult bread earners and almost 90% hailing from economically weaker sections, the 'Bed Side Care' assistance being provided by NGO is proving to be a boon for patients affected with paralysis.
The volunteers have been assisting the stroke affected patients in helping them shift to higher centres in emergencies and further assisting them on bed side care in the form of bed making, face wash, sponge bathing, head and scalp care, nail care, shaving and diaper changing.
