Hyderabad: 5 of a family proud of retiring at ECIL
Dr AS Rao Nagar: A family of five who retired in ECIL was proud of the eminent organisation and the opportunity to serve it.
According to K P Raju, who served the company for 36 years, five of his family members had retired from ECIL. His sister A Syamala retired on Thursday. Expressing their gratitude to Dr A S Rao, the founder, four brothers, KP Raju, K Ramaa Raju, Krishnam Raju, K Lakshman Raju, along with their sister, garlanded the statue of Dr A S Rao and paid rich tributes.
"Many families would remain grateful to Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) which was set under Department of Atomic Energy on April 11, 1967.
Dr AS Rao, an Indian scientist who was the Director of radiation health protections and electronics group at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre was the first Managing Director.
"In fact, many people who worked and retired from ECIL are now settled in AS Rao Nagar, the colony which was named after Dr Rao, and has now become a major commercial and residential colony," Raju said.
