Hyderabad Collector inspects Fever Hospital

Nallakunta: Hyderabad District Collector Manik Raj, who is also chairman of Hospital Development Society, visited Fever Hospital on Thursday and inspected various departments and wards of the hospital. The hospital has been witnessing heavy rush of outpatients with various seasonal diseases and viral fevers these days.

Speaking to media after the inspection, the Collector said that the hospital had all the necessary facilities to provide medical services to patients and can handle the situation. He said that additional doctors from other hospitals were kept ready to handle any situation.

The Collector urged people to take all the necessary measures to prevent mosquito proliferation and keep their surroundings clean. He advised people to be alert in this monsoon season and consult doctors in case of any problem.

Hospital superintendent Dr Shankar appealed people to remain alert about seasonal diseases and consult doctors immediately if symptoms such as vomiting, body pains and high temperature were observed. He assured people that the hospital had capacity of 330 beds and patients of the hospital were always under constant supervision of doctors.

Assuaging people's fears on viral fevers such as dengue and malaria, Dr Shankar said that that patients could recover fast from the viral fevers if proper treatment was given on time and asked them not to worry much about reduction in platelets.

He said that the State government has been taking measures for the better treatment of people and has provided 10 additional doctors from other hospitals. As many as 16 additional counters have been opened from Thursday to meet the outpatient rush, he said.
