Hyderabad: Sanitation measures afoot at Osman Nagar
Jalpally: Providing some relief to residents of Osman Nagar, officials pumped out 2 feet accumulated water from the locality. They also set up medical and relief camps for locals.
Nearly 4 feet of floodwater has been drained out through the newly built pipeline from Osman Nagar to low-lying areas via Venkatapuram. "The remaining quantum of accumulated water will be drained out in a day or two and the issue will be resolved soon," assured Jalpally Municipal Commissioner GP Kumar.
He informed that there are several colonies located on the way to the other end of the Osman Nagar, where the residents have raised objections to water flow through their areas. "The officials tactfully dealt with the situation and ensured that no one faced any inconvenience due to the ongoing process," he said
In the meantime, the official took necessary action and precautions on ascertaining health-related issues of the local residents by organising medical camps and 24/7 emergency tram helpline centers in Osman Nagar area. As many as 4 autos,4 tractors,5 fogging machines,1 JCB and 20 municipality workers and health staff were assigned to tackle sanitary issues, if any. It may be mentioned here that for last more than 3 months, Osman Nagar in Jalpally municipality remained inundated. In October, a petition by a resident was acted upon by the High Court which directed the government to clear stagnated water and attend to the pressing issues of locals.
