Hyderabad: White peacock adopted by Inner Wheel Club

Bahadurpura: As part of the animal adoption programme, the members of Inner Wheel Club of Secunderabad visited Nehru Zoological Park on Thursday and adopted a white peacock for a period of one year. Club president Vandana Jain along with secretary Jayanthi Kannan and district chairman Sulochana presented a cheque for Rs 30,000 towards the adoption of the bird to Nehru Zoological Park Curator N Kshitija.

Kshitija thanked the members of Inner Wheel Club for showing keen interest in adopting the bird for the consecutive fifth year, thereby strengthening wildlife conservation programme at the zoo. She also appealed to the citizens to come forward in more numbers towards the adoption of animals in the zooVandana Jain said that they were very much impressed by the way the animals were being taken care of and said Nehru Zoo is one of the best in the world.
