Lambadas used as vote banks, alleges Lambada Hakkula Porata Samithi chief
Uppal: The Lambada Hakkula Porata Samithi (LHPS) celebrated its 23rd Foundation Day on a grand scale here on Monday. LHPS national president Bellaiah Naik said that a month long celebrations will be held all over the State.
He criticized all political parties for using them merely as a vote bank. "No party came forward to develop thandas into panchayats. In spite of these circumstances, LHPS has never got disheartened. It took out padayatras and cycle rallies sensitizing people in the thandas," he added.
"The 22-year-struggle has started reaping fruits now. A total of 3147 girijans were elected sarpanches in Telangana. About 142 thandas have been announced in the panchayats of Andhra Pradesh recently," Bellaiah Naik said, calling upon the community members to take part in Gwar Banjara meeting to be held in Nagarjuna Sagar on July 28. Raju Naik, Koti Naik, Chandu Naik, Murali Naik, Suryakala and others were present.
