Locals raise a stink over bad road

Alwal: For the past four years, the residents of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in Alwal, are facing immense hardships in travelling on the road, as the road was not properly laid and developed.

The locals living near these areas had earlier complained about the pathetic road condition to the authorities concerned but no action was taken. The road is bumpy and with a heap of sand and a pile of broken bricks, walkers and motorists are finding it difficult to commute on the uneven surface. Also, the other side of the road is full of garbage, emitting foul smell making it difficult to commute.

As the GHMC of Alwal is busy constructing the road in other areas of Alwal and neglecting our area road issue and we have lodged complaints with the authorities concerned about this perennial problem several times, but they remain indifferent and negligent, said R Surya, a commuter, while speaking to The Hans India here on Friday.

Rajesh, a local, said that they made a flurry of verbal complaints about this issue and also asked the officials concerned to construct a proper road in this area, but no action was taken till now.
