Major hurdle cleared for Balanagar flyover

Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan has informed that the process of property acquisition for construction of Balanagar flyover has been completed. As many as 367 properties were acquired on the stretch from Balanagar Cross Roads to Narsapur Cross Roads. The total budget of the project is estimated to be Rs 387 crore.

Bonthu Rammohan held a meeting at GHMC main office with Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao, local corporators, GHMC Zonal Commissioner V Mamata, Chief City Planner Devendar Reddy, town planning officials and property holders.

He said property holders signed an agreement to hand over their assets to the civic body. Out of the 367 properties, 120 properties were acquired and 76 properties belonged to government departments. A declaration was filed for the rest 170 properties on basis of land acquisition act.

Rs 265 crore has been spent for land acquisition and the remaining Rs 122 crore would be utilised for flyover construction. The construction of this flyover would facilitate signal free route in Secunderabad, Kukatpally, Balanagar, Quthbullapur, Gajula Ramaram and Suchitra areas. With legal issues raised by property holders being resolved, Balanagar flyover works would be inaugurated soon.
