Mayor inspects road widening works

Serilingampally: Mayor Bonthu Rammohan toured several areas in the Gachibowli division including flood threatened spots in Khajaguda Chitrapuri Hills Colony here on Monday. He held discussions with GHMC officials on occupation of nalas and road-widening works .

Rammohan directed officials to expeditiously complete the widening of the main road in Khajaguda. He convened a meeting with officials and members of Chitrapuri Colony Society on the issue of providing basic facilities there.

Women of Chitrapuri LIG colony complained to the Mayor about the severe water shortage and alleged that officials were negligent in solving the problems despite making repeated representations. They also told him that roads linking the colony to the main thoroughfare were narrow leading to traffic issues.

Rammohan asked the officials to lay a pipeline to supply water to the colony and widen roads to a stretch of 80 feet. He assured the residents that steps would be taken to solve their problems.

Local resident and Andole MLA Ch Kranti Kiran accompanied the Mayor during the visit. Among those present were Gachibowli Corporator Sai Baba, GHMC Circle 20 Deputy Commissioner Venkanna, Town Planning and Engineering department officials, Chitrapuri society president Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao and film director N Shankar.
