Minister Talasani reviews arrangements with officials

Secunderabad: Minister for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Talasani Srinivas Yadav instructed the officials concerned to make all the necessary arrangements by July 15 for celebrating the Bonalu festival on a grand scale at the Ujjain Mahankali temple. He was participating in a review meeting with the officials in the temple premises on Wednesday.

Speaking to media on the occasion, the Minister said that the State government has been celebrating the Bonalu festival as state a festival and the festival has been popular not only among the locals, but also foreigners. He directed the officials to ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience as large number of people were expected to participate in the festival.

Talasani Yadav reviewed the arrangements like flood lighting, barricading, continuous supply of electricity, generators and medical facilities for the festival. He ordered officials of various departments to make necessary arrangements related to their department.

The Minister instructed the RDO to make arrangements related to protocol for VIPs visiting the temple during the festival. The officials of Jalamandali were ordered to ensure that five lakh water packets were kept ready for distribution. He also reviewed arrangements made for traffic control, security and transportation. He urged the government officials of various departments to work in tandem with each other to make the event successful.

Speaking on the occasion, GHMC commissioner Dana Kishore, said sanitation workers would work in three shifts to keep the temple premises clean. A control room would be established to monitor the situation at the temple, he added. Arrangements are being made to keep the surroundings clean by consistent removal of waste, he said.

GHMC zonal commissioner Raghu Prasad, local corporator Athelli Aruna, temple EO Annapurna, RDO Raja Goud, Secunderabad Tahsildar, Mahankali ACP Vinod, District Medical Officer Venkati, Executive Engineer, HMWSSB officials and others were present on the occasion.
