Missing Swachh autos: BJP demands vigilance probe
Charminar: Demanding vigilance inquiry over missing Swachh autos, the BJP on Friday put the onus on GHMC for piling up of garbage in different locations across Old City, as it failed to audit the number of autos in its fleet in the recent years.
While referring to the reports published in a section of media that scores of Swachh autos went missing immediately after they were flagged-off with much hype by the government, BJYM leader Ponna Venkat Ramana questioned the silence of officials over missing autos, as most of them were barely seen operational on the streets of GHMC Charminar Zone.
Ramana, who expressed his anguish over piling up of garbage in several localities in the recent days, has blamed the maladministration on Minister K Taraka Rama Rao. He pointed out that even though funds were being sanctioned by the GHMC, no developmental activities were being taken up in Old City. The playgrounds which should have been developed were being turned into dumping yards of waste.
