Naini Narsimha Reddy hails Haritha Haram as role model for other states
Chikkadpally: Former home minister Naini Narsimha Reddy said that Haritha Haram programme initiated by Telangana government has become a role model green initiative for rest of the states.
He was participating in the tree-plantation held as part of Haritha Haram programme held here in the premises of City Central Library on Tuesday. Musheerabad MLA Muta Gopal, chairman of Beverages Corporation Devi Prasad, local corporator Muta Padma Naresh and others participated in the programme. The chief guest and others offered special prayers at the recently built Renuka Yellamma temple in the library premises and then planted saplings.
Speaking on the occasion, Naini Narsimha Reddy urged people to plant more trees as it would help the environment and bring more rains. Haritha Haram was started by the CM KCR with a noble intent to increase greenery in the State, which in turn will help in realizing the goal of golden Telangana, he said.
Although the previous governments conducted tree-plantations in a big way but failed to protect plants, he said. Decreasing forest area has led to increasing migration of wild animals into cities and villages, causing a lot of inconvenience to people, he said.
