New Majlis party holds membership drive at Barkas

Barkas: The All India Majlis-Inquilaab-e-Millat held another membership drive at Barkas famously known as bastion of Arab tribes in the Old City. According to party leaders, they saw yet another rousing response from the local people where 900 people got membership of AIMIM majority of among whom youths and women folk of the area on Sunday. Scores of elders too visited the camp and enquired about the aims and objectives of the AIMIM and even assured their support in strengthening the party.

"The Arab community played a crucial role in embellishing the political framework of Hyderabad city and this part of the area of old city saw many devoted politicians who leaves remarkable impression behind in the annals of political history," asserted Moulana Syed Taraq Quadri, a leader of AIMIM, while issuing membership cards to the newly enrolled members.

"Passionate youth came to us asking what kind of a role they could play for the party. Many of them invited us to have similar drive at their own areas such as Shahen Nagar, Salala etc," said party vice-president Syed Hamed Hussain Shuttari.

"We are witnessing a sea change in the mindset of the people as if a dearth of political clot is created in the absent of selfless politics. Many of the youth asked us to make Barkas a separate municipal division," Abdul Qavi Abbasi said , adding that a total of 900 members enrolled in the party fold on Monday.
