Open area at metro station turns into dump yard

Secunderabad: Throwing garbage and waste at open area is a common thing in the city. The open plot near Secunderabad metro station was filled up with garbage. The commuters have been throwing their garbage including food waste and plastic waste at the open place.

Raghuram, a fish foodstall hawker said, "I have been keeping my pushcart for past nine months here. I have to keep my pushcart in front of this plot as the other places are for pedestrians to walk and I am unable to keep my pushcart there due to garbage which has been thrown by locals.

This has been causing a lot of inconvenience to my business. The customers footfall has come down due to the street dog menace. There are many street dogs in this area because of the garbage thrown in this open plot."
