PJTSAU organises meet for resource persons

Rajendranagar: Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) and Department of Agriculture, Telangana, jointly organised a one-day awareness programme on fertilisers application for resource persons of agricultural department, agricultural university and coromandel fertilizers here at university auditorium in Rajendranagar on Thursday.

The programme was supported by Coromandel Fertilisers. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr V Praveen Rao gave several suggestions to the resource persons. In the present-day situation, agriculture should turn knowledge-driven, he said. He advised the young agricultural officers should sensitise farmers on latest developments. They must always be eager to know about the developments happening around and apprise farmers of the same, he added.

Rao further suggested that the awareness literature regarding fertilisers application should be in simple language and crisp. Farmers should be encouraged to take up organic farming and cut down on use of harmful chemical fertilisers.

Director of Extension Dr Rajireddy, Director of Research Dr Pradeep, JDA Dr Ramulu, and Vice President Dr Subbareddy, Coromandel Fertilizers, and others also spoke on this occasion. Several agricultural officers, scientists from Krishi Vignana Kendras, agricultural research stations, resource persons of Coromandel Fertilizers participated in the programme.
