Ramannakunta lake will be cleansed: Talasani

Secunderabad: Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav has assured the residents of Cantonment Board to address the issue of sewerage contamination in Ramannakunta lake within one year. He was speaking to media during his visit to Ramannakunta lake along with GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore, Cantonment CEO SVR Chandrashekhar and Minister for Labour Ch Malla Reddy on Tuesday.

During the visit, he inspected the lake and assured the residents of neighbouring colonies that the issues of water hyacinth and sewerage would be addressed within one year. The works for cleaning up the lake would be started in the next 15 days, he said.

The Minister said that the lake would also be beautified and a mini-tank bund would be built on its bund. The Minister said that the water bill for the residents of Cantonment areas has been reduced to Rs 160 based on the instructions of TRS working president K T Rama Rao. The Minister also promised to address the issues of workers and employees of the Cantonment Board. The pending salaries would be released very soon, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Ch Malla Reddy said that the State government has been striving to resolve the issues afflicting the Cantonment areas and no other government. Besides, the government has addressed the drinking water issue , he added.
