Rich tributes paid to Venu Madhav
Osmania University: The students paid glowing tributes to film comedian Venu Madhav, by garlanding his portrait and remembering his works at Arts College on Sunday.
Praising Venu Madhav, student leaders Thalari Srinivas Rao and Daravath Upender Naik said that he was the first generation Telangana actor who boosted local dialect and language. They said Kathi Kantha Rao in the past and Venu Madhav now, occupy a special place in the Telugu film industry.
They demanded that the State install their statues on Tankbund and establish a 'kalakshetram' each in their names. They also demanded that the State government provide financial assistance and a house in Filmnagar to Venu Madhav's family.
Addressing the students, Srinivas Rao wanted the government to set up a 'kalakshetram' each in Kodad and Suryapet, the native place of Venu Madhav, and a establish a guest house in Hyderabad.
Among those who paid tribute to Venu Madhav were Dusuku Veladri, Mandala Bhaskar, Chenigani Dayakar, Gadaraju Chandu, Manchala Lingaswasmy, Srikanth, Gopayya, Balakrishna Netha, Anjaneyulu Netha, Raju Netha, Mabbu Karnakar.
