Rich tributes paid to Shoyab Ullah Khan

Baghlingampally: Telangana Praja Samskruthika Kendram (TPSK) convenor G Ramulu said that the real tribute to the noted Telangana freedom fighter Shoyub Ullah Khan lies in opposing and fighting communalism in any form.

He was speaking at a programme organised to observe the 71st death anniversary of Shoyub Ullah Khan at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram here on Thursday. The program was organized by the state committee of Awaz, a social organisation. Mohammad Abbas, the state secretary of Awaz, presided over it.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramulu described Shoyub Ullah Khan was a brave journalist who fought communal hatred all through his life. He said that some political parties were trying to communalise the Telangana Liberation Day for their vested interests. He said that Telangana Armed Struggle was fought by Telangana people, irrespective of religion and caste, against the atrocities of jagirdars, jamindars and landlords.

Freedom fighters from all religions and castes, such as Shaik Bandagi, Chityala Ailamma, Tanu Naik, Doddi Komuraiah and others, sacrificed their lives for the cause, he said. He condemned the attempts to link their sacrifices to certain religion would be insult them, he said. He called upon people to teach communal forces a lesson as Khasim Rajvi was taught during the struggle. Fighting communal forces would be real tribute to Shoyub Ullah Khan, he said.

Among those who participated in the program include Himabindu, Skylab Babu, Thodasam Bheem Rao, Ashaiah, Bhoopathi Venkateshwarulu, Pagadala Lakshmaiah, Shoban Naik, Kota Ramesh, G Naresh and others.
