RTC body demands merger of TSRTC with government

Musheerabad: TSRTC Employees Union (EU) demanded the State government to come forward and merge the RTC in the government and bear the additional burden imposed on it due to diesel price hike. The EU general secretary Raji Reddy issued a press note in this regard on Monday.

The press statement condemned the way the Minister for State Transport Vemula Prashant Reddy's statement ruling out the merger of the RTC in government, hurting the sentiments of Telangana RTC employees.

While the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh State cabinet has formed a committee to consider merger of the RTC in government, which also implemented the pay revision, the TRS government has ignored the hardships being faced by the RTC employees, the press note added.

The EU also demanded the State government to bear the additional burden on the state RTC due to diesel price hike, which is expected to be around Rs 65 crore. The Union condemned the inaction of the recognized union which has failed to question the delay in implementing the Pay Revision Commission.

Condemning the delay in conducting elections for Union, EU demanded the Labour Commissioner to declare immediate elections to the Union, as the term of previous body has ended on August 7, 2018.
