Secunderabad: Resident Welfare Associations draw SCR GM's attention to their woes
Secunderabad: Resident Welfare Associations led by United Federation of Resident Welfare Associations, Greater Hyderabad, met South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya at his office here on Wednesday. They made a representation on issues like Safilguda railway gate closure and other pending development works related to Malkajgiri zone.
A letter was submitted to GM requesting him to look into the issues of Safilguda gate closure, running MMTS trains in already completed Medchal-Secunderabad route under MMTS phase II, works and early completion of MMTS Phase II between Moula Ali and Sanathnagar for proposed connectivity to Hi-Tec City.
A representation with1,000 signatures from the residents staying near Safilguda station on Safilguda railway gate closure, which was collected by Balanagar RWA, was also submitted to GM.
The General Manager assured them that he would take forward the Safilguda railway gate closure issue to the Division Manager of Hyderabad Division. He also promised to visit and inspect Medchal-Secunderabad and Moula Ali-Sanathnagar MMTS routes to see the progress of works.
Gajanan informed the RWAs delegation that he had met Telangana Chief Secretary Shailendra Kumar Joshi recently, and discussed about MMTS development works and six level crossings between Secunderabad and Medchal, where there was a necessity of RoB or RuB to avoid traffic jams due to closure of railway gates during peak MMTS services.
The GM informed that SCR was looking forward for an early payment of TS government share of Rs 400 crore which is pending for MMTS Phase II development works.
The RWAs delegation comprised B T Srinivasan, general secretary, United Federation of Resident Welfare Associations, Kishore Singh, president, Balanagar Nagar RWA, Vasantha Naidu, general secretary, Balanagar Nagar RWA, Gopal Singh, Srikanth, Vijay, Om Prakash and Saibaba.
