Self-confidence helps scale heights: MLC V Bhupal Reddy
Patancheru: The physically challenged persons can overcome their challenges with self-confidence and become role models for others, said MLC V Bhupal Reddy and local MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy here on Tuesday.
They were speaking at the 'Kalayatra' programme at Gita Bhupal Reddy Government Junior College organised jointly by Padmavathi Institute for the Disabled, N V Foundation and TMDA. Twelve artists using wheelchairs presented cultural items. Physically challenged artists won wide applause with their performances. Among them were singers Padmavati and Dhananjay who rendered filmy numbers in melodious voices. Lawrence Nageswara Rao showed his dancing skills to enthrall the gathering.
Organisers Moturi Narayana of the institute and Ravi Kumar of TMDA felicitated the legislators. The two legislators regretted the neglect and lack of attention to the issue of physically challenged persons who are being neglected in society.
Among those present were VBR Government Junior College Principal Maheshwar, Ramachandrapuram Corporator Anjaiah Yadav, TRS leaders Adarsh Reddy, Narasimha Reddy, district Telugu Yuvatha president Yadla Ramesh, local TRS activists Mohan Reddy, Lakshma Reddy, K Vittal Reddy, SV Foundation members Kalavathi, Ammulu, Venkateshwara Rao, college lecturers, staff and social activists.
