Slow removal of tree debris angers locals

Safilguda: Locals of LB Nagar colony near Safilguda are furious over the indifference of the GHMC in clearing the debris of fallen trees from their locality.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Monday, Raj, a local resident, said that the debris of the trees is still lying there as no one has come to remove it. Every year, the GHMC staff cuts down tree branches and leaves before the onset of monsoon to prevent it from falling and causing damage.

However, they don't clean it and it's the locals who have to suffer, he added. The leaves start to decompose and shed foul smell, attracting a lot of mosquitoes which can cause health problems to everyone here.
