Osmania University: Student organisations in OU on Friday demanded a Cabinet post to a representative of the Madiga community, given the large base of the community in the State. The organisations held a meeting in front of the Arts College under the aegis of the Madiga Students' JAC and Bahujana Students' Federation (BSF).

Madiga Youh JAC State Coordinator Vadde Yellanna and BSF State president Gade Venkat attended the meeting. Along with JAC State president Dr Ramagalla Sundar they said that there were 75 Madigas for every 100 SCs and formed 12-15 per cent of their total population.

They stated that Madigas were in the forefront of the Telangana agitation and have been active in TRS party. According to the leaders, there are 11 Madiga MLAs in Telangana. They alleged that 'injustice' has been done to the community by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao by denying a Cabinet berth to Madigas.

While appealing to KCR to render justice to the community, the leaders hoped that he would make a Madiga MLA a State minister. Those present at the meeting included State leaders Velpu Konda Venkatesh, Ranjith, Yakub, BSF OU President Borelli Suresh and Ramakrishna.
