Talasani Srinivas Yadav reviews Bonalu arrangements in Old City
Shahalibanda: In a view of upcoming Bonalu festivities Minister for Animal Husbandry, Talasani Srinivas Yadav visited the Old City and reviewed the arrangements of Banalu festival on Thursday.
Beginning his tour from Uppuguda, Srinivas Yadav visited the Uppuguda RuB and inspected it. Officials present on the occasion briefed him about the completion of RuB works and assured that the way would be cleared for taking out Bonalu procession.
On this occasion, he assured the devotees that the completion of the works would ease the way for taking out procession. "Now the devotees taking out Ghatam and women carrying Bonam will not face any problems during festival," he affirmed.
For the past few years during Bonalu festival, women devotees coming from Bhoiguda Chatrinaka temple to Mahankali Temple located in Uppuguda were forced to walk extra 2 km to reach the temple, due to the pending of RuB works. The Minister took note of it and instructed the officials to complete the all the pending works of RuB as early as possible.
According to GHMC Superintendent Engineer (Projects), South Zone, Dattupant, the RuB works were completed and it was ready for use. But the service roads would be completed in next 2 months. An amount of Rs 6 crore had been sanctioned and the tender process was in progress, he added.
Later, the Minister visited the Simhavani Mahankali temple in Lal Darwaza and Bangaru Maisamma Temple in Hari Bowli performed puja and reviewed the arrangements in temple and also inspected the arrangements done by GHMC, HMWSSB, TSSPDCL and police.
Later, he held a meeting with the all department officials and asked them for the best possible arrangements for the devotees during festival. He also interacted with the devotees in temple and asked them about their satisfaction of arrangements provided by the departments.
Later, he distributed the Endowments cheques to the temple committees. Around 50 cheques were distributed to the old city temples for Bonalu festivities. GHMC zonal Commissioner (Charminar) B Srinivas Reddy, South Zone DCP Amber Kishore Jha, DCP (Traffic) K Babu Rao and other department officials were also present.
