Telangana journalists body elects new working panel

The Telangana State Journalist Welfare Association announced State New Working Committee at the Somajiguda Press Club on Monday.

Senior journalist Anamchinni Venkateswara Rao was elected as president of the JSS, Chakkatala Srinivas as vice president, Gauti Ramakrishna as chief secretary, Sridhar Yalala as executive secretary, Manda Rajesh as the treasurer, Sandalwood as the treasurer; Speaking on the occasion, Anamchinni said that journalists in Telangana were being discriminated and their development has been completely stalled.

Journalists are in serious trouble as the government's proposals were limited to paper. He said that it was distressing that not a single journalist was able to support them in the face of the illicit cases being perpetrated on many of the reporters who took up public issues. He urged the government to take immediate action on the health issues of journalists.

He said the JSS would fight in the direction of resolving these issues. He assured that every journalist would have the JSS as the target of resolving journalistic issues across Telangana. The event was attended by several journalists from all over the state.
