Telangana Resource Centre launches Journal of Telangana Studies

Darulshifa: Telangana Resource Centre (TRC) has published the inaugural issue of the TRC Journal of Telangana Studies (TRCJTS), which is a bilingual, quarterly, peer-reviewed academic journal.

To mark the occasion of the launch of the journal, a book release ceremony was held in the Eastern Block Auditorium of Salarjung Museum in Darulshifa on Thursday.

President for Forum for Better Hyderabad Vedakumar Manikonda presided over the programme and former Chief Election Commissioner of India JM Lyngdoh released the journal. Chairman for Telangana Press Academy Allam Narayana, former Vice Chancellor of Osmania University Prof Suleman Siddiqui and Director at Salarjung Museum Dr A Nagender Reddy graced the occasion as guests. Prof Salma Farooqui and Dr Sudha Rani also attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Vedakumar recounted the process of compiling and publishing the journal and explained the novelty of its contents. Allam Narayan expressed his appreciation for the publication of TRC Journal of Telangana Studies.

Prof Suleman Siddiqui detailed his learning as a student of history and stated that the issue is only the tip of an iceberg that it needs to uncover and explore the great depths. Dr Nagender Reddy all expressed his congratulations to the team behind the journal for contributing to the advancement of research on Telangana. Prof Adapa Satyanarayana, editor of TRC Journal of Telangana Studies, elucidated on the need for original research on the history and culture of Telangana, adding that the journal is a small, but necessary step in that direction.

The members of the editorial board were felicitated for their contributions to the successful inauguration of the journal. The programme saw the attendance of eminent historians, scholars and prominent members of academia. Students from several schools and colleges also participated in the event.
