Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education bungling leaves students in lurch
Secunderabad: Telangana state Intermediate students are in deep trouble following bungling by the TSBIE (Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education) which has assigned the work of processing of results to an inexperienced firm Globarena Technologies.
Hundreds of students shocked by the results, along with their families, are descending at the TSBIE office to plead with officials to rectify mistakes, if any. As police started bundling them to police station, the aggrieved candidates and their families gave vent to their spleen and frustration. Activists of political parties and student unions are also flocking to the spot to vehemently protest against the Board officials.
The voice of students is drowning in the melee one witnessed since the announcements of results. They were aghast at the attitude of the officials who seemed to blame it on technical glitches. The hapless students were merely advised to apply for revaluation. It is a heart-rending sight as students and their parents kept showing their marks lists to anyone sympathizing with them, alleging sheer injustice in evaluation of their answer sheets.
The goof-up by Globarena threatens to spoil the two years hard work of students. There have also been reports of students taking their lives on seeing the depressing results. Even as TS Intermediate Board tried to dither on the issue, the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao finally intervened and announced not only extension of dates for seeking revaluation but also made the entire process free.
Now, the students are keeping their fingers crossed. "I got two results in which I was passed in one and failed in the other. I can't understand how they can give two results for a single registration number. When I approached the board, they simply asked me to apply for re-valuation. Can anyone clarify? Why should I waste my money for the mistake done by the board?" Gaddam Abhishek, an Inter 1st year student from the city, expresses his anguish thus.
"I finished my first year with a good percentage and now in second year also I achieved better marks in all subjects except Ortho and Neuro in which they showed 3 marks as my result. I am a student of above average grade, how can I get just 3 marks?" asks Eshwar, an Inter 2nd year student.
"My mother is a reputed teacher in a private school. After my results, she didn't even step out of house because of humiliation. Is this the result we expect after pouring our sweat for two years," says a teary-eyed Sahil Morius John, an Inter 1st year student. He further added: "Here the board members are not responding to the issue and the police are taking the people into custody who are fighting for us. It's a shame."
"My son studied in a reputed corporate college and he is successful student in the pre-final exams conducted by college. He was failed in two subjects in the board exams. I request the respected officials to solve the issue in favour of students and rectify the mistake," pleads Manjula, a housewife.
"I attempted my Economics paper for 80 marks and I am sure I will gain not less than 70 in it. But when my results were out, I was shocked to see 30 marks in my memo. I had never seen these marks in my life. If the issue was not rectified, there will be no future for 2019 Inter passed students," says Syed Rafi Hussail.
