Temple encroaches upon road at Alwal
Alwal: The construction of an illegal structure, a temple, at newly laid Kotha Cheruvu bund road has been giving nightmares to locals and also leading to traffic chaos. The residents are also unhappy as the thoroughfare would be disturbed.
Speaking to Hans India, Dr GV Rao, general secretary of Greater Alwal Allied Service Association(GAASA) said," Some unidentified group of people occupied half of the road and havestarted constructing temple illegally on a road belonging to GHMC."
A few months back, GHMC laid a new road for smooth flow of traffic to various areas like Bolaram, and Venkatapuram. Last year, a group of people attempted to construct but they were stopped by GHMC officials. However, they started constructing the structure illegally last month. The residents over here lodged several complaints to the joint collector of Medchal-Malkajgiri and also to GHMC, but till now no action has been taken.
"The illegal construction has been giving causing hardships to the commuters, especially in the evening hours, as all the construction material are being dumped on the pavement of the road. As a resultit is becoming difficult to ply vehicles," said, J Arjun, a resident of Alwal. Once the temple gets constructed on the road, it would be difficult for us to use the road. Encroachment drive won't solve the problem over here until authorities keep a regular check on the encroachers.
