Vardhanthi of prominent Communist observed

Serilingampally: The 25th death anniversary of Telangana freedom fighter and a prominent Communist leader S V K Prasad was observed by his family members and Left parties in his house in Prashanthnagar, Miyapur on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, State CPI additional secretary Palla Venkat Reddy recalled that Prasad had joined the Telangana Armed Struggle after giving up higher studies and employment opportunities and was jailed. As an MLA from Warangal district he had taken up many programmes for the benefit of people and strove for strengthening the Communist unity. "With prasad's inspiration, we will take the Communist struggle forward," Reddy stated.

Communist leaders D Vikram Kumar and Thandra Kumar advised the cadre to work for achieving the ideals of Prasad. They called for Left unity in the context of communal elements becoming active across the country. Among those present were Telangana freedom fighter Sugunamma, CPI(M) Serilingampally in-charge Shobana, leaders Krishna, Ravi, CPI in-charge Srisailam Goud, leaders Tukaram, Devender, Kanna Srinivas and Manikyam.
