White paper on Inter exam fiasco demanded
Nampally: Former MLC and noted political analyst Professor Nageshwar has demanded that the state government to come out with a white paper on irregularities in Inter Board, which resulted in the suicides of several students.
He was speaking at a silent protest staged by Telangana parents' association at Martyrs Memorial in Gun Park demanding justice to the kin of students who committed suicides. Expressing his support to protestors, Nageshwar said the CM KCR's review on Inter Board fiasco has only provided relief to some extent, but the basic issue remained unaddressed.
He demanded the state government to make public the findings of the expert committee on Inter results. The state government should come forward to form a committee of academicians to prevent such incidents from happening in the future, he said.
He said that re-verification is being done freely only to the failed students, but there are many students who got less marks than they anticipated, he said, and demand free re-verification to all the students.
He questioned how the data of lakhs of students was handed over to a private agency without signing any agreement. The members of parents' association demanded ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh to the families of students who committed suicides and a job to one member each in the families.
