Work from Home scam busted, 2 held
Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri Police on Sunday arrested two persons M Shalini (24) and B Balaraju (30) for cheating the innocent people in the name of 'Work from Home.'
According to police, on Saturday they received a petition from T Mounika (21), a student from Ashok Nagar, stating that she came to know about 'Work from Home' job at Kharkana in Secunderabad through one of her friends G Dhanalaxmi (21).
Her friend told her that she joined the firm headed by Shalini by paying Rs 2,500 as joining fee and that she was getting Rs 8,000 per month for filling up some numbers in the forms.
The firm later shifted to Vaninagar (RK Nagar) in Malkajgiri where Mounika, along with 30 other students, who completed degree from Vishwa Chaitanya Women's Degree college, joined the firm by paying Rs 2,500 towards joining fee and ID cards.
Further, she stated that they were assigned a task to fill 90 sheets per week and were paid Rs 90 per sheet, after completing the sheet without any mistake. Further, Shalini pretended them that these sheets were for the use of B Tech students.
Later, they came to know that Shalini along with Balaraju cheated them intentionally and were swindling money from innocent un-employed students by extracting joining fee and ID card charges. The police registered a complainant against the accused, arrested them and produced before the local court.
