Landslides broken at Tirumala ghat road amid rains due to Burevi cyclone

The landslides on the second ghat road of Tirumala were broken due to non-stop rains in Thirumala for the last three days with the impact of cyclone Burevi. As a result, landslides have been breaking on the road since morning at the 12th km of the second ghat road. TTD officials with the help of JCB are clearing the cliffs on the road from time to time.

Meanwhile, Engineering officials and Alipiri security personnel are alerting motorists traveling on Ghat roadsvand advised them to proceed with caution. On the other hand, all the dams in Tirumala are facing flooding in the wake of the rains. The gorge lifts the gates of destruction and released the water to the bottom.

While with the surface periodicity formed in the southeastern Bay of Bengal, the state disaster department has forecasted moderate rains in parts of Andhra Pradesh today and tomorrow. Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor and Kadapa districts are likely to receive heavy rains today and Krishna, Guntur, Anantapur and Kurnool districts are also likely to receive light rains. The Met Department has forecasted moderate to heavy rains in Nellore, Chittoor, Kadapa and Anantapur districts tomorrow while light showers are expected in Prakasam and Kurnool districts. Authorities are therefore warned people to be vigilant.
