Municipal Corporation of Tirupati buys 25 mini trucks for waste collection
Tirupati: Municipal Corporation of Tirupati has purchased 25 mini-trucks for door- to-door collection of waste in the city at a cost of Rs 2 crore.
MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy along with MCT Commissioner P S Girisha on Thursday flagged off the vehicles in an official programme conducted at Municipal Corporation office.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that by purchasing these mini trucks the door-to-door collection of waste will be taken up efficiently in the city.
Commissioner Girisha said MCT has purchased these vehicles under the Smart City project to provide better sanitation in the city.
tiHe urged the people not to throw wastage on roads and hand over it to municipal staff who are coming to their doorstep every day.
