Jana Sena Party takes strong exception to closure of Vizag airport
Visakhapatnam: Jana Sena Party took strong exception to the written statement submitted recently by YSRCP Rajya Sabha member V Vijayasai Reddy to Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri for the closure of civil enclave of Visakhapatnam airport once the Bhogapuram Greenfield Airport commences its operation. Referring to the letter, general secretary of JSP T Sivasankar Rao wondered why the MP was in such a hurry to seek closure of the civil enclave at Vizag airport that too for a period of 30 years even before the Bhogapuram airport is made operational.
The JSP leader wondered why the MP should write to the Civil Aviation Minister in such haste and in a 'clandestine' manner without consulting the stakeholders. Sivasankar Rao pointed out that the letter was submitted against public's interest.
He alleged that there's an 'agreement' between the state government and the proposed builder and demanded disclosure of the 'hidden agenda'. He further added that the letter which is against the public's interest should be withdrawn with immediate effect.
Speaking on the occasion, JSP general secretary and environment and Human rights activist Bolisetty Satya pointed out that people from other regions were trying to strike a business deal in Visakhapatnam by essaying the role of 'politicians'.
He lamented that there is no one in the Parliament to represent the real problems of North Andhra.
