Bus driver, conductor held for raping woman in Gujarat

Vadodara: In a horrific incident, a woman was allegedly raped by a bus driver and conductor while she was travelling from Kuksi to Porbandar. The crime came into the light when the victim approached the police.

According to the sources, the woman works as a labourer and boarded a private bus from Kuksi town in MP to come to Porbandar on Thursday night.

The victim said that she went to Kuksi along with her husband and was returning alone to Porbandar. While on the way, the bus stopped at a hotel for dinner where all the passengers got down.

At that time, the woman asked the bus driver for a better space so that she could sleep properly. With this, the driver and conductor took her to the bus top and threatened to push her off the roof.

Taking advantage of this, the conductor and driver took turns to rape her. After the incident, the victim continued to travel on the same bus, and after reaching Porbandar, she called her relative and disclosed the matter.

Immediately, they approached the Porbandar police station and lodged the complaint. On receiving the information, the police registered a case, arrested the accused. The accused identified as Nanabhai and Kapil. Later, they transferred the case to Chhota Udepur police for further investigation.
