Temple thief arrested, booty worth `10.5L recovered

Ongole: The Prakasam district police department arrested a habitual offender on Saturday and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 10.5 lakh from him. Speaking to media at District Police Office in Ongole, SP Siddharth Kaushal announced that temple thefts has been increased in the district for a while and ordered the CCS DSP A Prasad Kumar, taluk inspector Ganga Venkateswarlu to step up surveillance.
The CCS DSP along with Ganga Venkateswarlu, CCS SI K Kamalakar and other crime party planned a meticulous operation and are searching for the thief. Based on a tip-off to DSP, the police team arrested Emani Rambabu while he was waiting to board a bus at South Bypass road on Saturday.
