India working to reduce carbon footprint by 30-35%: PM

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed the 8th convocation of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar. Addressing the students through video conferencing, he said that the students passing out from the institute will become the new strength of the country. The Prime Minister said that there was a time when people used to question how far such a university would be able to grow. But the students here, the professors and the professionals who emigrated from here have answered all these questions. In his address, he said that the youth of the 21st century will have to move forward with a clean slate. The Prime Minister said that you see that the same people are successful in life, the same people do something in whose life there is a sense of sense of responsibility.

Things which Prime Minister Modi's said in his address:-

-The power of willpower is incomparable with the strength of desires. There is so much to do, so much to get for the country, but your goals should not be scattered in pieces. When you proceed with commitment, you will feel a stock of energy inside you.

-Sense of Responsibility and Purpose of Life are two tracks on which the car of your resolutions can run very fast. I urge you to maintain a sense of responsibility within yourself.

-Today's generation, the youth of the 21st century, will have to move forward with a clean slate. The stone streak that remains in the minds of some people, that nothing will change, that streak will have to be cleaned. Clean heart means clean intent.

-Can you imagine what the youth wanted in 1920? What were his ambitions? Everyone only dreamed of freedom and put their dreams at stake. Between 1920-1947, the youth gave their all to their nation. I want you all to take inspiration from them.

-You see that the same people are successful in life, the same people do something by which there is a sense of sense of responsibility in their lives. Fails are those who live in the Sense of Burden. The sense of responsibility also gives rise to the sense of imperfection in a person's life.

-It is not that you will be facing any difficulty for the first time in your life, it is not that this challenge will also be the last. It is not that successful people do not have problems. But he who accepts challenges, he succeeds.

-It is not an easy thing to be a graduate at a time when the world is facing such a big crisis. But your abilities are much bigger than these challenges. What are the problems, more important than what is your purpose, what is your preference and what is your plan?

-Today, the country is moving ahead with the goal of reducing its carbon footprint by 30-35%. Efforts are to increase the share of natural gas in our energy needs by 4 times in this decade.

-I am sure that with your skill, your talent, your professionalism, you will emerge as a big power of self-reliant India. I have been associated with the projects of this university since the beginning.

-There was a time when people questioned how far such a university would be able to grow. But the students here, the professors and the professionals who emigrated from here have answered all these questions.

-Today you are entering the industry at a time when due to the epidemic, major changes are also taking place in the energy sector of the whole world. In such a situation, there is immense potential for growth, entrepreneurship, employment in the energy sector in India today.

-I am happy to see that this university is making its mark in the whole world today. I have come here today not as a chief guest, but as a member of the university family.

Congratulations to all of you on the occasion of 8th Convocation of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Petroleum University. Many best wishes to the fellow graduates who are going on today, and also their parents.
