New Delhi: Investigation agencies are actively probing the role of a couple arrested on Sunday from Jamia Nagar in Okhla and their links to ISIS Khorasan module in Afghanistan. Jahanzaib and Hina Bashir Beg were held by a Special Cell of Delhi police on Sunday. Probe agencies revealed that the couple had been on their scanner for some time.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is learnt to have joined the probe into the links of the Okhla couple to the Khorasan module of ISIS. A senior official of the Delhi police told media that probe agencies had been looking into the role of ISIS members and had been tracking their online activities. He remarked that a lot of incriminating literature and material inciting the youth against a community had been found with the Okhla couple.

The investigation agencies are also reported to have found that the couple were inciting people to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Meanwhile, a section of the media reported that a link between the radical organisation, People's Front of India (PFI) and the violence in the anti-CAA protests had emerged. PFI leader Danish was reportedly arrested for inciting people during the anti-CAA demonstrations.

Meanwhile, Delhi police is on the lookout for arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Tahir Hussain's brother, Shah Alam. The crime branch is also looking into the role of other close relatives of the suspended AAP corporator in the violent incidents which scarred the north-eastern areas of the national capital.
