Co-Optex exhibition begins

Kakinada: Co-Optex Exhibtion of Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers’ Cooperative Society began at the Pydah Chalamayya Kalyana Mandapam here on Thursday. Mayor Sunkara Pavani lit the lamp and inaugurated the exhibition.

Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that Co-Optex was famous for their hand-woven saris in versatile designs. Due to the festive month of Sankranthi, the government had announced a special discount of 30 percent on the products in this exhibition.

Speaking at the inauguration, Co-Optex regional manager, K Arul Rajan informed that the Tamil Nadu government had announced a discount of 30 percent to support handloom weavers. The exhibition also features new designs of saris and printed the details of the sari such as-- material from which the sari was made of the weavers’ names. This exhibition was selling Kanchi, Aarani, Cotton, Coimbatore saris and all types of blankets, lungis, towels, chudidars and readymade shirts.
Rajahmundry Co-Optex manager Guna Sekharan and others were present at the inauguration.
