Louis Braille remembered on his birth anniversary
Ongole: The Louis Braille is remembered on his 210th birth anniversary by the students and staff of the Santiniketan School for Blind in Mangamoor Road in Ongole on Thursday.
The school principal, Prasada Rao offered rich tributes to the Braille by garlanding his photograph in the school. He explained the children about the life events of the Braille and his plight for education. He also explained the situations that forced Braille to invent the code they are using now and how it changed the lives of millions of blind across world since then.
The BJP district president, PV Krishna Reddy, Lions Club president Namineni Mohan Rao, Womens Club president M Rachana, DPRO Mohan Raju and others also participated in the programme.
