Collector inaugurates Surya Namaskaram, 10-K Walk
Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar stressed on the need to save natural resources for wellbeing of the people. He inaugurated Surya Namaskaram and 10K Walk programmes at Big Bazaar Centre here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that there was need to save natural resources for future generations and reminded that the government had introduced the Jalasiri programme to conserve water. Advocating Surya Namaskaram, the collector said, “Those who perform the Surya Namaskaram have sound health. We have conducted Talliki Vandanam programme in all government school to respect mothers. We urge people to work together for a healthy Guntur.”
MLA Alapati Rajendra Prasad said that he had been conducting the 10K Walk for the last 10 years to explain significance of walk to the people and promote walking habit. Guntur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Challa Anuradha and Guntur Mirchi Yard chairman Mannava Subba Rao were also seen at the events.
