Crisil team suggests reforms to increase revenue

Guntur: Guntur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Challa Anuradha on Wednesday, conducted a meeting with the Crisil team which visited the GMC to make suggestions to implement reforms in the collection of taxes. The GMC audit team was also participated in the meeting.  

The Crisil team explained how GMC revenue will increase with the collection of development charges, vacant land tax collections and property tax collections and explained how taxes are being collected in  the other  states. They explained through the power point  presentation to the GMC officials. They  also discussed  on  reforms to be  implemented  in the GMC to increase revenue  and how much revenue the GMC is getting. 

If the reforms are implemented, the GMC will strengthen economic status which is useful to speed  up development in  the city, the  team opined. GMC  Additional  Commissioner K Ramachandra Reddy, Crisil team Preeti Mahapatra, Darshan Parika, VVRK Sai, Bridge Gopal Ladda were among those participated.
