Guntur: Minister for Civil Supplies Prattipati Pulla Rao, on Friday, said the Centre did injustice to the state in the Union Budget for the 2018-19 and there was no priority to the state.

Speaking to the media at ANU, he said, “We have expected priority to the state in the Budget. But there is no priority to the state. The Union Budget is a disappointment. There are no funds allotted for the construction of the state capital, Amaravati.”

He said that the Centre did not initiated steps to fulfill the assurance mentioned in the State Reorganisation Act. He said that the Centre did not mention about a separate railway zone, steel factory at Kadapa, port at Dugarajapatnam  in the Budget and did not allot  funds for  the Polavaram Project. He said that funds allotted to the universities were also not sufficient and  added that there was no special package   to the state.

He informed that the TDP MPs were also opposing  the Union Budget. “We protest against the Union Budget and requested the Centre to extend helping hand to the state. The state government is in the financial crisis. In spite of that, it is implementing welfare schemes  and developing the state,” the Minister claimed.
