Make bandh on Feb 8 a success: Muppalla
Guntur: Communist Party of India (CPI) state secretary Muppalla Nageswara Rao urged the people to make the proposed state bandh on February 8 a success, to register their protest against injustice meted out to the state in the Union Budget.
Speaking to reporters, Muppalla Nageswara Rao said that the Centre did not mention about funding to steel factory at Kadapah, Dugarajapatnam port, separate railway zone and funds for the construction of state capital in the budget. The people were disappointed by the ignorance of the state in the budget.
He reminded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested him to allot Rs 12,000 crore funds to AP. In spite of it, the Centre did not consider it, he added. He said that the Centre was ignoring the interests of the state. “There is need to mount pressure on the Centre to get funds to AP.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, leader of Opposition in the state Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan should meet the Prime Minister and try to get more funds to AP,” he said. He urged people to make the proposed state bandh on February 8 a grand success.
