Mayor administers deworming tablets to children
Eluru: Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan inaugurated the National De-worming Day at the Ganganamma Municipal Corporation High School in Western Street here on Monday. She administered de-worming tablets to the students in the school on the occasion. She also distributed tablets to the students and Anganwadi children also.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that the Government had taken up the de-worming programme for the health of people. She said that the government had supplied the Albendazole tablets for the distribution among the students in the schools. Every year, the National De-worming Day was conducted to eradicate worms that affect health of children mainly, she added.
Municipal health officer P Surya Rao, Former Deputy mayors Chode Venkataratnam, Gudiwada Ramachandra Kishore, corporators Veeranki Trinadh, Pardhasaradhi, Komarti Gopal participated in the programme. Later, the Mayor distributed the deworming tablets to children in the Anganawdi centre. City CDPO Jayalakshmi participated in the programme.
