Kambala Tank to be developed

Rajamahendravaram: Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA) chairman Ganni Krishna has said that Kambala Tank will be developed with an estimated cost of Rs 6.05 crore to bring its past glory.

After inspecting the ongoing works of the tank here on Thursday, he said that of the total amount under Amrutha scheme, an amount of Rs 5.8 crore was given in first and second phases. The Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) has also been spending an amount of Rs 65 lakh as part of the development of the park. In Amrutha scheme both Central government and state government apart from RMC release the funds.

Gym, children play space, open air auditorium with 200 seating capacity and walking track are part of development. Meanwhile, iron railing would also be constructed in the place of existing cement railing, he added. Two main gates would also be constructed in the place of existing gates which are in a dilapidated condition. The existing Vinayaka Temple would also be shifted to some other place on the same premises. 

The storm water as well as drain water would be diverted to treatment plant. New electric lights would also be arranged around the tank. All the works would be completed by May-end and directions were issued in this regard, he added.
