Minister opens drinking water plant

Kovvuru: Excise Minister KS Jawahar has said that steps have been taken to tackle the water problem in all villages in Kovvuru constituency.

The Minister inaugurated the Protected Water Treatment Plant constructed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh under NTR Sujala Scheme at Dharmavaram village in Kovvuru mandal on Sunday.

Speaking at the meeting, he said that the protected water plant was constructed in the Panchayati office compound and people can utilise the water plant. He called upon the people to join hands for the development of the villages in the constituency and donate liberally for the development works. He assured that underground drainage would be constructed in the village. The graveyard in the village would also be developed and all necessary amenities would be provided to the village, he promised. 

The treatment plant was constructed in memory of Mullapudi Subbarao and Subhadramma by Gita Mullapudi Dental Hospital doctors Mullapudi Rajendra Prasad and Sangeeta. Mandal president J Subbaraya Chowdary, Agriculture Market Committee chairman Vegi Chinna, Vadapalli Rajyalakshmi, ZPTC member Garapati Sridevi participated in the programme.
